You want to see theexact time of an Instagram post on PC in 2022 (timestamp)?

Want to find the exact time of one of your Instagram posts?

Or the timestamp of a post from an Insta account you follow?

Then you are in the right place.

When you post a photo on Instagram, you do not see the date and time of your post.

You only see the elapsed time since the post: 2 hours, 4 days, 2 weeks...

After 52 weeks (1 year), you see the exact date of publication (e.g. 8 January 2022).

But you can't know the exact time of the Instagram post.

In this guide we will look at how to see the exact time of an Instagram post in 4 simple steps.

How to see the exact time of an Instagram post on PC in 2022?

To see the exact time of an Instagram post, log into Instagram on your PC, go to the post, right-click on the date, select "Inspect", copy the "datetime" and convert it.

After converting the "datetime" to the correct format, you will be able to see the exact date and time of the Instagram post.

Note that you can use this tip only on PC (computer).

This is not easily possible on your phone.

We therefore advise you to log in to your Instagram account on your PC.

Pre-requisites :

  • Using Instagram for PC (computer)
  • Having an Instagram account and being connected to your Instagram account on your PC

Here is our detailed guide in 4 steps to see the exact time of an Instagram post:

1. Log in to your Instagram account on PC and search for the post

On your PC go to www.instagram.com > Search for the relevant Instagram post

Stage 1 Log on to www.instagram.com on your PC and search for the post for which you want to know the exact date and time of publication.

This works for all Instagram posts: photo, video...

It is important to use your PC as this trick is difficult to do on a phone.

Open the post by clicking on it.

The post opens in full size and you see the content (photo, video...) on the left and various information on the right: account name, post text, post date, comments...

We will look at the date of the post in step 2.

2. Right click on the date/timeframe and select "Inspect".

Right click on the date/timeframe > Inspect

Step 2 Once you see the targeted Instagram post large, go to date or the deadline in the right-hand column below the text (before the comments).

For example, it says "2 JANUARY 2022" or "2 SEM" (2 weeks).

Use the right click with your mouse by pointing to this date and select "Inspect".

This will allow you to open the Item Inspector.

You have completed step 2 which is to inspect the date element of the post.

Let's move on to step 3.

3. Copy the timestamp to the "datetime" element

Select and copy the timestamp in the "datetime" element

Step 3 After opening the Inspector in the previous step, you go directly to the Elements tab of your browser.

Here you see the HTML code of the Instagram page.

Don't worry about the complexity of the code.

All you have to do is select and copy the timestamp present in the "datetime" element.

To do this, double-click on the "datetime" element, then right-click and copy the timestamp (or CTRL + C on the keyboard).

For example, if the post is dated 02/01/2021, you will see in the "datetime" element a timestamp of this type:

"2022-01-02T17:00:19.000Z" (ISO standard 8601)

Here you can see the date 02/01/2021 (at the beginning) followed by a timestamp.

Warning: don't be mistaken, the exact time of the Instagram post is not yet clear (here 17:00:19) and in the right format to understand it.

The time format used on Instagram is the ISO 8601 standard.

The ISO 8601 format is not easily readable.

The timestamp must be converted to the correct format (called RFC 822 format) in order to have the exact time in a clear and legible way.

Let's go to the last step to convert the timestamp.

4. Convert the timestamp with an online converter

Go to en.infobyip.com/epochtimeconverter.php > Paste the timestamp > Click on Convert

Step 4 The last step is to convert your timestamp to the correct format so that the exact time is readable.

To convert the timestamp, we use a free online time converter :

https://fr.infobyip.com/epochtimeconverter.php

Paste the time stamp (timestamp) in the converter box.

Example: paste " 2022-01-02T17:00:19.000Z

Click on Convert.

Note that your time zone is detected automatically depending on where you are.

You will see a table appear with 2 columns: Format and Value.

The most readable format is the "RFC 822" format.

Then go to the line "Date of RFC 822"(Format column) and look at the Value column.

You see the exact date and time of the Instagram post.

For example: "2022-01-02T17:00:19.000Z" means "Sunday 2 January 2022 at 16:00:19 in the time zone GMT+1".

So the exact time of the Instagram post is here 16:00:19 (GMT +1).

Well done, you managed to see the exact time of an Instagram post!
